Spring is here! and so is my next photo

The spring is here, bringing with it the promise of yet another hot! summer. But until then why not enjoy killing one of my old but favorite closeup (macro) pictures of a flower in bloom.

The plant is called among other names Queen Anne’s lace and has a really nice flower.

Now, feel free to either enjoy the photo or “kill it” or both.

hint: the picture is best seen in it’s large version:

Kill My Pics is revived

After a very very long break I have decided to revive my blog.

As before, once a week I will upload here one of my many pics  for you to critique or in other words “kill”. You don’t have to be a photographer for that just a person with an opinion and a desire to share it.

The more you write the more I (and others) learn so feel free to express yourself.

And now, here is my latest picture for you to “kill”:

Cup of tea anyone?

Winter is almost here and the tea is back to warm up our days and evenings.

I love a god cup of tea or coffee (even better) while sitting next to a big window watching the winter outside.  That’s why I like this picture. It was taken exactly 2 years ago in a tea/coffee house in Detroit while outside was raining.

The picture was a spur of the moment thing with no planning (that’s why the stain is there 😦 ) but I still like it.  I would prefer however, to know what could be done to improve this image if I was to take it again – this time putting some thought into it before (and having a better understanding of light and photography)

Behind Bars

Behind bars

Behind Bars was taken at the local zoo. The animals there are very well taken care of, but this is still one of the saddest pictures I ever took. What do you think?

The picture was taken with a Canon EOS 350D Digital camera.
Exposure: 0.005 sec (1/200
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 300 mm
ISO Speed: 400

Of the balcony

Here it is. This photo “Of the balcony” was taken in an old area that is now part of Jerusalem and is called Ein Carem.

The picture was taken with a “HP PhotoSmart C850” camera and had the following stats:
Exposure: 0.017 sec (833/50000)
Aperture: f/10.4
Focal Length: 52.2 mm
ISO Speed: 100

Now you can kill my pic. 🙂

Welcome to Kill My Pics

Welcome to Kill My Pics.

This blog’s entire purpose is to get you, the reader, to criticize my pictures (pics for short). Every week few days I will post a picture I took at some point or another and will let you criticize it.

Every week few days one of my pictures will be “hung on the wall” for you to kill. The main idea behind this blog is for me to get better at photography and hopefully, as the critiques get more serious and advanced so will others. As nice as it is to get feedback on the lines of “this is a great picture”, or |”this is nice” or even “wow! great” it doesn’t help me learn what I can do better next time. This is what I hope my blog ,with your help will do for me.

Because of the idea behind the blog and it’s name I have to approve each comment before I let everyone see it but unless the comments are inapropriate I promise to post them all.

One last thing before I show you my first picture; All pics are taken by me and are subject to copy rights (unless I have stated otherwise).

Ok, and now to the picture:
